Faith
At Unite the Body we believe that some churches in America have drifted away from one of our primary responsibilities, which is to be Salt and Light to the surrounding culture. That many have come to a tacit agreement with the world, that if you don't bother us then we won't bother you.

Some have turned their focus inward and left our neighbors to fend for themselves to figure out what's real, what's right, what to believe, and how to navigate this world without the guidance of God's word and the necessary encouragement to face life's challenges well. We believe that it's not enough to have an open door, but that people need to be met where they are. This is becoming more essential as technology and social media provide the means to become more distracted by things of little value even as we become more isolated.

Further, some churches have watered down Biblical Truth so as not to offend modern sensibilities; to make sure the message heard on Sunday is not discordant with the message of the world heard the rest of the week. We believe that "all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" (2 Titus 3:16). Anything less leaves the hearer insufficiently equipped to understand the God of the universe and our ability to fathom the eternal consequences of our actions (or our inaction).

Churches and individuals need to recognize that we have agency, we're not left at the mercy of our circumstances, children of God have access to the power of God, and we therefore have the ability to affect the world around us if we're willing to put in the effort.
